The design for this project embraces the essence of Corfu’s distinctive landscape, where the deep blue sea, dense green vegetation, and dark stone formations unite to create a setting as unique as the island itself.
The approach to the hotel’s renovation is rooted in a deep respect for this extraordinary location. Rather than replicating the typical vaulted roofs seen throughout the island, a modern interpretation of local architectural elements was chosen. The building’s horizontal lines gently bend to follow the natural contours of the land, seamlessly integrating into its surroundings.

Inspired by traditional Corfiot architecture, the interior is crafted with built-in furnishings, drawing from the thick, structural walls of the island's historic settlements. Floors are laid with traditional stone pavements, and the rough terracotta plaster on the walls evokes a dialogue between past and present, connecting guests to Corfu's rich cultural and historical layers.
The vision is to create a space where the spirit of the island’s vernacular architecture is revived, yet expressed in a way that is fresh, respectful, and in tune with the unique environment of Palaiokastritsa. In this setting, the essence of summer life in the Ionian Sea—with its sun-drenched days, and relaxed pace around the rocky landscape—becomes an integral part of the guest experience.
